Community

BCR actively works to boost local community projects, support small businesses and create new enterprises in it’s supplier base. A small selection of the many success stories demonstrating BCR’s commitment to community are outlined here.

Community Projects

Construction of the Dithamaga Community Hall began in 2019 in Limpopo. In 2020, it was handed over to the Dithamaga Trust for the benefit of the entire Dithamaga community by BCR Minerals. The project is one of the approved infrastructure LED projects in the Department of Mineral Rights social and labour plan created with the Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality.

To increase accessibility in the community, BCR has undertaken to tar a 5km road in the Dithamaga Community area. Construction began in 2019, with completion in March 2022.

SMME Support

A bottle recycling business, brick-making concern and poultry businesses appear to have little in common – save that they have all been supported by BCR, and are now supplying other local businesses with their products and services too. These are just a few of the many success stories demonstrating commitment to community.

We invest in training and skills transfer to build a new cohort of entrepreneurs. BCR has been instrumental in assisting local businesses to get off the ground, with assistance to acquire key assets and fixed BCR contracts to ensure sustainability of their enterprises.
