BCR Holdings discovers, acquires and mines quality natural resources across southern and central Africa through efficient and responsible mining practises. Entities with mining rights can rely on BCR to take them through every step of the complex process. After all, we’ve been there ourselves and grown from the same start.
BCR Holdings is renowned for providing a consistent supply of various commodities, including chrome, at reliable prices.
We achieve consistency of quality by owning our own production facilities and mines. At BCR, we continuously work on uncovering new mining techniques and sources. It’s a core tenet of our embedded culture to constantly go further and push deeper for greater reliability and higher quality ore.
Having initially traded various commodities, co-founders Reon Barnard and Walter Murray established BCR Holdings as a consulting and advisory business focused on the mining sector, offering their services to the likes of Samancor, Cronimet and Volclay. The business evolved, including the identification of projects as well as greenfields exploration. BCR Holdings applied for its initial mineral rights in 2009 and obtained them in 2011 in an area which holds most of South Africa’s chrome ore deposits.
Today, BCR Holdings has come full circle.
Having successfully operated mining projects for many years, including Nooitgedacht Chrome Mine, Grassvalley and the Spitsvale Chrome mine, BCR’s depth of expertise provides an edge which few similar businesses can match. The company’s consulting and advisory services span mineral mining rights, geology, logistics and mining operations. BCR operates within a framework of the highest levels of compliance and governance, while maintaining the agility that built and grew the business.
BCR Holdings has built a reputation as a miner of high quality commodities and origins. With our own production and beneficiation facilities as well as mines, we are able to supply global clients with consistent quality from a single source. Detailed analyses of all aspects of the business are conducted to contribute to BCR’s resolve for excellence in all we do.
BCR’s products are used in quality stainless steel, special alloys destined for chemical plants, the food industry, medical technology, batteries and aircraft turbines.
The long-term sustainability of our business is dependent on several factors, arguably the most important is maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. BCR invests in technology and various other initiatives to ensure the safety of our people at all times.
